Biosketch
Dr. Adaeze Akamigbo is a health services researcher currently pursuing postdoctoral work at the University of Chicago School of Medicine. She completed her Master’s in Public Policy (MPP) at the American University in Washington, DC, and subsequently worked at the Congressional Budget Office as a budget projections analyst. She completed her PhD in Health Services and Policy with a concentration in health outcomes research at the University of Iowa College of Public Health. Her research interests and areas of expertise include long-term care, gender and racial health disparities, and quality of care. Some of the results from her dissertation research were published in Medical Care and the Gerontologist. Her current research projects focus on disparities in access to good quality health services as determined by individuals’ socioeconomic status, age, and racial minority status. Dr. Akamigbo’s skills and training is in health services and policy evaluation, quantitative data analysis using both primary and large secondary data sources, and economic evaluations of health. Dr. Akamigbo also has interests in the structure of health care delivery both in the US and internationally.
