Dr. Chiedozie Udeh obtained his medical degree in 1992 from the University of Nigeria. He then completed a residency in anesthesiology at the Maimonides Medical Center in New York City. Following his residency, Dr. Udeh completed a critical care medicine fellowship at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina. He is board certified in anesthesiology and critical care medicine and has extensive training in hyperbaric medicine. In addition to his clinical training, Dr. Udeh earned a Master of Health Economics degree from the Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Australia. Dr. Udeh has extensive experience working in a wide variety of health care settings internationally, having held clinical appointments in Nigeria, Australia, New Zealand, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. He currently holds a faculty appointment as an Assistant Professor (Clinical) in the department of Anesthesiology at the University of Iowa, with primary clinical responsibilities in the surgical intensive care unit and the hyperbaric medicine unit. His research interests include the economic evaluation of healthcare interventions and operations management, particularly in perioperative and intensive care medicine settings. He also serves a reviewer for Anesthesiology, the journal of the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
