Biosketch

Professor Macher examines the intersection of strategy and technology. His research focuses mainly on how firm organization affects technological and innovative performance in a variety of high technology industries. His research interests include industry structure; competitive strategy; and the organization and economics of innovation. He has also conducted research in the areas of drug development and pharmaceutical manufacturing, and has advised the U.S. Food & Drug Administration in those areas. His research has been published in Advances in Strategic Management, California Management Review, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Organization Science, Management Science and Strategic Management Journal, among others. He teaches full-time, evening and executive MBA and executive education courses in microeconomics, strategy and the management of technology and innovation. Professor Macher is a member of the Academy of Management (AOM) and the Strategic Management Society (SMS). He is on the editorial board of International Journal of Strategic Change Management, and is a reviewer for several academic and managerial journals.
